Blackburn Athletics is not only a local fitness center, but it also takes active steps to improve the life of our city by planning and organizing a variety of events near you.
We're expecting our customers to come and join us during these events to raise more funds, have fun, and increase our fitness and well being together. Sports events and poker tournaments will be held regularly in the future.
For "La Fondation Centre Jeunesse de la Montérégie"!
Things started well already. Only one month after our opening, we raised no less than 10333$. The first challenge was a great success, with over participating 36 teams, we were able to raise more than ten thousand dollars in ONE DAY for the children. Everyone who participated loved it and they can't wait for the next one. The cost was 20$ per person, but for this one we will bring the price up a little bit! There were also medals for all the children who participated in the challenge.
We gave money to this organization because they really invest their time and energy to take care of the youth in the region and that is very important to us. Next month, we have planned 3 big events with the goal of raising at least twenty thousand dollars more.
Poker Tournament in Saint-Basile-le-Grand at the Hyundai car dealership
The 24th of March, a huge poker tournament will be held at Hyundai Saint-Basile. All the cars will be removed from the showroom and we are waiting for 60 players to participate to this awesome fundraiser event. The cost will be 50$ per person with a lot of possibilities to give money to the kids, there is also a bar on site that will offer drinks.

Individual competition at the end of this month
On the 31st of March (Saturday), there will be an individual competition organized only for the clients of Blackburn Athletics. It will be a 25 minutes circuit with volunteer judges. The details of the workout will only be available the night before the big event. There is a 20$ minimum donation if you want to participate in this event, and it will be all weights and exercises we normally do in our group classes, but this time in a competitive but fun environment.
Don't miss our team challenge!
April 8th will be our biggest day. We will have over 200 people participating in "2 guys 2 girls" team, in the second edition of our friendly challenge. This is open to everyone with a great attitude, with food, beer, and treats sold during the event to raise the most money possible. Starting from 8 am, every hour, there will be 7 teams competing in a friendly challenge. Expect an awesome atmosphere! The team fee is 100$ (25 $ each) and there will be an event for the kids at 1 pm with a voluntary donation.
Once the events are over, we will announce the week after the full amount of money raised for the children.

What kind of exercise will you find in this individual competition or team challenge?
There will be exercises that you usually see in our Burnfit classes. Everybody should be able to perform the challenge, whether they are beginners or more advanced practitioners. The most important thing is to have fun, everybody can do it!
